Media Intern

  • Are you a self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude?

If your head is nodding up and down like a rocking horse, we’d love to talk to you about becoming our Media Intern. Compensation is $10/hour with the opportunity to work up to 20 hours per week in a way that fits your schedule.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Researching and maintaining the Sandbox ATL aggregated calendars
  2. Participating in editorial planning meetings
  3. Composing digital and print versions of THE WEEKLY member update and all its components
  4. Writing and editing regular stories for TechSquareATL.com
  5. Planning, creating, and scheduling social media content for Tech Square ATL and Sandbox ATL
  6. Assisting with creating and distributing the Tech Square ATL elevator signage
  7. Helping out with basic graphic design and smart phone photography
  8. Other duties as assigned

Event Host

 

  • Do you love hosting big events and have nerves of steel?

  • Are you the last one to stick around to help clean up at the end of the night?

  • Does executing a plan and improvising when things go awry make your heart beat faster?

  • Can you herd cats and lead teams of people who don’t work for you?

  • Are you a self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude?

If your neck is sore and you are dizzy from nodding your head in agreement, we’d love to talk to you about becoming an Event Host for The Garage. Compensation is $15-20/hour, based on experience and availability.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Setting up and arranging furnishings and fixtures to exact specifications
  2. Greeting 3rd party vendors and assisting with loading dock access
  3. Anticipating the event client’s needs and responding to their requests
  4. Directing the work of the Event Assistant and janitorial support
  5. Ensuring proper function of The Garage during events, including A/V equipment, all fixtures and equipment, cleanliness and functionality of the restrooms and kitchen
  6. Overseeing and encouraging timely load in and set up of all supplies as well as timely event conclusion, breakdown, and load out of all vendors and client
  7. Resetting The Garage to daily specifications at end of the event
  8. Other duties as assigned

Necessary qualifications

  • Available holidays, nights and weekends
  • Willing to work occasional late nights, overnight, and early mornings
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • A/V technical abilities - additional training provided
  • Self-aware problem solver
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs and stand for long periods of time
  • Adherence to company core principles and assigned uniform specifications
  • Ability to problem solve in the moment and take ownership of responsibilities

Event Assistant

 

  • Do you love helping out at parties?

  • Can you work as part of a team and catch balls before they drop?

  • Are you a self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude?

If you said yes to all three, we’d love to talk to you about becoming an Event Assistant for The Garage. Compensation is $10/hour, based on experience and availability.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Working with Event Host to set up and arrange furnishings and fixtures to exact specifications
  2. Helping greet 3rd party vendors and assisting with loading dock access 
  3. Ensuring proper function of The Garage during events
  4. Resetting The Garage to daily specifications
  5. Other duties as assigned
